Maestro D'Alerta
Born in Havana Cuba
1/16/1932 is a fourth generation fencing master, son of Hugo
D'Alerta born in Italy 3/10/1899 and registered also as a
citizen of Argentina. D'Alerta trained under his father and
several European masters achieving high prominence as an
international competitor and master. He immigrated to the United
States from Cuba in 1968 where he opened up his first fencing
academy in the United States in Miami, Florida.
His grandfather was
Giuseppe D'Alerta born 1866 in Florence, Italy.
His great grandfather was
Pietro D'Alerta born circa 1830 in the province of Lucca
(Florence) Italy. Pietro was a professor of the Imperial
Fencing School and a painting master as well.
